Late morning hours. Special forces, disguised as clerics, infiltrate the city, and hide in a mosque next to a house where persons of interest stay. These are hours where traffic is heavy and trading activity is vigorous. Later, with reinforcements, they besieged the house, and the gates of hell opened. Clashes and exchange of fire.
Mohammad left the school, and headed towards his home when shooting begun. Frightened, he ran to a nearby clinic to find shelter. The soldiers were shooting everywhere, sitting in jeeps and shooting through shooting loopholes. He called his dad. Begged him to come and pick him up, saying he is trapped. He wanted to get home. He was scared. A few minutes later a bullet hit him and he died.
There were 11 fatalities that day, aged 16-72, 102 injured, six of them in critical condition. Among them many while seeking shelter. Operation Kasbah they called it. Three hours of hell, and the life of a frightened boy who wanted to get home was cut short.
