Taken from reports of the Gazan Health Ministry (Hamas) that has been a reliable source of such reports over the years, OCHA-OPT, UNICEF, WAFA News Agency, research by the New York Times and the Washington Post, the Red Crescent.
Killed
1. Palestinians in the Gaza Strip: 20,057 lethal casualties, 70% of them women and children. The children number at least 8,000. This is about 1% of the total population of the Gaza Strip. No one knows how many are buried under the rubble – they are estimated at about 7,000. Throughout the Strip there are about 120 mass graves. The number of casualties relies on hospital reports to the Health Ministry. It does not include persons killed but not brought to hospitals, or buried. The estimate, therefore, is much higher.
Based on known data, there are 300 Palestinians killed on a daily average. This has happened since December 1st. Prior to that, the daily average was 277. Among those killed: 136 UN employees (more than in any other conflict in the organization’s history), 83 journalists, 310 medical staff members, 20 members of the rescue forces.
2. Israeli soldiers: 140 Israeli soldiers have so far been killed in the ground invasion.
3. On October 7th, 1,200 Israelis and other civilians were killed. The bodies of 1,163 have been identified, 36 of them children. 30 of those defined as kidnapped captives were killed by Israeli fire/Hamas/their bodies snatched into the Strip.

2. Israeli soldiers – according to the Israeli army spokesperson, 784 persons wounded, 179 of them severely wounded.
3. On October 7th, about 5,400 Israelis and foreign nationals were wounded.
Displaced persons
1. Since October 7th, 1.9 million displaced persons have been reported, comprising 85% of the Strip’s inhabitants. This statistic contains persons displaced more than once. Most of them are now concentrated in Khan Yunis and Rafah in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Once every few days the Israeli army announces its eviction of different areas, so the displaced population needs to move from one place to another.
2. In Israel, 180,000 persons were reported displaced in both the north and south of the country.
Humanitarian matters
1. Health - 9 of the 36 hospitals are partly active. They are all situated in the southern part of the Strip. They are all handling casualties way above their capacity and report a shortage of medical supplies. The other hospitals were either bombed or closed due to their lack of medical supplies, fuel, food and water. 4 hospitals in the northern part of the Strip offer care of patients already hospitalized but do not accept new ones and there is no access to them. A 20-fold increase of intestinal disease is reported among children under the age of 5. 160,000 cases of infected respiratory tracts have been reported among children.
2. Electricity – since October 11th, Israel halted all electricity supply to the entire Gaza Strip.
3. Water – there is no access to clean water. The children in Gaza receive 10% of their daily water needs. Consequently, they are exposed to dehydration, malnutrition and intestinal disease.
4. Food – 90% of the Gaza Strip inhabitants are defined as suffering severe hunger. Partial food distribution is only enabled in Rafah.
5. Aid trucks – Prior to October 7th about 500 trucks entered the Strip every day. Since then, the daily average stands at 70. According to the UN Aid organization, Israel has been hindering humanitarian aid activity.
Kidnapped captives
129 persons, some of them have been killed.
Others
According to the research by the Washington Post, during the first 6 weeks of the present war Israel used 900 kilogram bombs, of the heaviest and most destructive bombs known, on civilian-inhabited areas defined as ‘safe’. This estimate is based on satellite photography of the craters the bombs formed. Israeli army spokesperson’s response: such issues will be examined later on.
