General

Monday 15.5, the 75th Nakba Remembrance Day. Below are data as published by the Palestinians:

In 1948, about 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes, about 400 villages were wiped out, 13,000 Palestinians were killed, about 30 massacres of Palestinians.


According to the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one out of every three refugees worldwide is Palestinian.


 

Fatalities

Since the beginning of the year, 113 Palestinians have been killed, 17 since the beginning of May.

1. Sa’ed Jihad Shaker Mashah, 32 years old, resident of the Balata refugee camp . clothing merchant. On May 13, during the raid of the forces on the camp, he was shot in the head (in the eye) by an Israeli sniper without posing any threat to the forces, according to a testimony of the journalist Jamal Rayyan of Al Jazeera network, who was a witness. He was not armed and was trying to get to his place of work in Nablus. Died on the spot. The forces blocked any medical aid from approaching until they withdrew, at least an hour later.

2. Adnan Wasim Yousef al-Araj, 19 years old. Resident of the Balata refugee camp. He was shot and killed by an Israeli sniper when he tried to drag Sa’ed Jihad Shaker Mashah aside and help him.




3. Ahmad Mohammad Taiseer Atatra, 33 years old, resident of Ya’bad. He was shot and killed while running towards a military force at the Reehan checkpoint, aka "Checkpoint 300", west of Jenin. According to the forces, he was carrying a knife. They shot at him, according to the Palestinians, at least 30 rounds. He was brought to burial later.



4. Saleh Mohammad Saleh Sabra, 22 years old, resident of the Askar refugee camp. Shot during clashes with the forces that raided the camp early Monday morning. According to the forces, he was an Islamic Jihad activist who was armed and was shooting at them.




 

Arrests and detainees


1. Arrests

During the period under review, 43 Palestinians were arrested: Ein as-Sultan Refugee Camp 1; Deir Sharaf checkpoint 2; Beit Rima 4; Aida Refugee Camp 1 (a 14-year-old minor injured); Silwan 1; Bab al-'Amud 1; The Old City, Jerusalem 3; Isawiyya 3; Qatanna 2; Nablus 2; Dora 1; Bab al-Baqia 1; Azzun 1; Jabel Mukaber 1; Halhul 1; Rummanah 1 (minor); Silat al-Harithiya 3; Bayt Kahil 4; Bab al-Hadid 1; Masafar Yatta 1; 'Arura 1; Nur Shams Refugee Camp 1; Si'ir 1; Jericho 1 (minor); Bab Hutta 2; Qabatiya1; East Jerusalem 1.


2. Administrative Detentions

The 21-year-old administrative detainee HishamHamed Awwad, from Askar Refugee Camp, started a hunger strike. He has been in administrative detention since December 2022. Shortly before that, he was released from a previous year and a half administrative detention.


3. Detainees

The prisoner Walid Daqqa was transferred to Soroka Medical Center due to further deterioration in his health condition. These days there is a campaign calling for his release.

 

Attacks by the IOF on Palestinians

Chronological report sorted by day of occurrence.


1. Silwan, Friday morning. Clashes during which the Palestinians shot fireworks and threw firecrackers. No injuries were reported.


2. Sur Baher, southeast of Jerusalem, clashes during Friday. No injuries were reported.


3. Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, Friday. The forces raided and fired rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas. No injuries were reported.


4. Bayt Dajan, east of Nablus, during the weekly protest procession against seizure of land and this time also in support of Gaza, the forces fired rubber bullets, tear gas and stun grenades. 5 strangulation injuries.


5. Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya, during the weekly protest against blocking of the main road to the village, and the seizure of the land, the forces fired live bullets, rubber bullets and tear gas. A 21-year-old was wounded in the leg by live ammunition, 2 more by rubber bullets.


6. Bayta, south of Nablus, in the weekly protest against the plundering of Jabel Sabah lands and support for Gaza. The forces fired tear gas. No injuries were reported.


7. Al Aroub Refugee Camp, north of Hebron, Friday. Demonstration of support for Gaza. The forces fired live bullets at the demonstrators. 4 injured. One is in serious condition from a bullet in his stomach.


8. Aida Refugee Camp, north of Bethlehem, conflicts. A 14-year-old minor was shot and arrested.


9. Deheishe Refugee Camp, south of Bethlehem, clashes during which a Palestinian was shot and seriously injured.


10. Azzun, east of Qalqilya, clashes at the main entrance. The forces fired live bullets. 3 wounded in the lower limbs. On Monday, the clashes resumed and the Palestinians threw stones.


11. Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, on Friday a funeral was prevented (again) from leaving through the main entrance towards the cemetery. The troops fired teargas at the escorts. Suffocation injuries. At the same time, there were also clashes in the eastern part of the town, suffocation injuries reported there as well. On Monday early morning an assault by the forces accompanied by a Shin Bet officer. Investigations. Confrontations. 2 injured by rubber bullets and many by suffocation.


12. Nablus, Saturday, a raid by undercover agents on the Balata camp (east of the city). At the same time, forces blocked all entrances of the camp. The forces surrounded the house of the Abu Rizq family in the center of the camp. Snipers on the roofs. Additional reinforcements poured in. The forces fired heavy fire, RPGs as well as grenades at the house, which was empty. A lot of damage to the house. It contained ammunition and charges in preparation.


In another street, a sniper shot and killed 2 Palestinians who, according to a journalist's testimony, neither posed a threat nor were armed. In addition to the 2 dead - 4 injured by live ammunition: a 50-year-old woman was seriously injured by 4 bullets, 3 more by shrapnel. 75 suffocated. According to the Red Crescent, evacuating the wounded was only possible on foot, as the forces blocked the access of ambulances. The dead could not be evacuated until the end of the event, over an hour after they were shot.


Sunday - another raid on the old city. The undercover forces besieged a hiding apartment and two wanted persons turned themselves in. Both are suspected of being involved in shooting at the troops a month and a half ago and injuring 3 soldiers in Hawara. Conflicts and exchange of fire begin there. A Palestinian was injured and his condition is moderate. An Israeli soldier was also injured.


Monday morning, another raid, on the al-Masaken neighborhood (east of the city) and the Askar Refugee Camp (east of the city), apparently for the purpose of taking measurements of a house destined for demolition (the home of the perpetrator of the attack in Hawara). Exchange of fire. One Killed in the Askar Refugee Camp. Severely wounded in al-Masaken neighborhood.


13. Isawiyya, Northeast Jerusalem, Sunday. Raid and clashes. Searching houses while assessing damage. Arrests.


14. 'Arura, north west of Ramallah, raid for arrests. confrontations. No injuries were reported.


15. Bayt Kahil, northwest of Hebron, raid for arrests. Confrontations. No injuries were reported.


16. Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, raid for arrests early Monday morning. Heavy firefights. Arrests.


17. Jericho and Aqabat Jaber Refugee Camp, Monday, a raid on the heart of the city and then on the camp. An attempt to stop a wanted person failed. Confrontations. A minor was arrested.


18. Si'ir, north of Hebron, raid on a house. The forces shot a wanted person, wounded and arrested him.


19. Nur Shams Refugee Camp, east of Tulkarm, Monday. A raid by undercover agents on the camp in order to arrest a wanted man. In his absence, an officer of the Palestinian security forces arrested his father in order to pressure him to turn himself in.


20. Nabi Saleh, northwest of Ramallah, clashes at the entrance of the village.


21. Shu'fat Refugee Camp, northeast of Jerusalem, raid (again) by forces increased confrontations.

 

Demolitions, Confiscations and Blockades



1. Aqabat Jaber Refugee Camp, southeast of Jerusalem, Qusai Al Sarrahi was forced to destroy his house. He paid fines but to no avail. In a month his wife is expected to give birth.


2. In Jalamah, northeast of Jenin, 4 residents were notified that some of their land was expropriated for the purpose of a closed military zone, but in practice for the expansion of the separation wall.


3. Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, the forces cut fences, destroyed a water cistern and uprooted olive trees in Al Jwaya, Al-Mafkara and Khalet a-Daba.


4. The Old City, Jerusalem, the UN Office for Human Rights Affairs in the Occupied Territories expressed its concern regarding the forced eviction of the 68-year-old Nora Ghaith and 72-year-old Mustafa Sub Laban, after all courts, including the Supreme Court proceedings, were exhausted. The evacuation is scheduled for June 11, and then their house will be transferred to the Kollel Galicia Trust - a settler organization.

 

Palestinian attacks on the Occupation Forces (IOF)


1. Salem checkpoint west of Jenin, firing.


2. Reehan checkpoint,( aka "Checkpoint 300") west of Jenin, a Palestinian ran towards the forces, according to them with a knife in his hand. They shoot him (according to the Palestinians 33 times) and kill him.


3. Qalqilya, a car crashed into checkpoint 109. The soldiers fired 7 bullets at it. The driver was injured. There are no further details about the incident and it is not clear what happened to the driver.

 

Settlers attacks on Palestinians


1. Deir Jarir, Northeast of Ramallah, settlers herded cows and raided agricultural fields between Deir Jarir and Silwad. The Palestinians went out to confront them. A settler, a soldier on leave, shot at them, Injuring two: one seriously with an injury to the lower abdomen and the other to the hand. Immediately afterwards the shooter covered his face. He was later arrested. The forces arrived at the scene, attacked the Palestinians and fired live ammunition at them.


2. Husan, west of Bethlehem, settlers uprooted 15 olive trees and 10 almond trees. They destroyed terraces and cut wire fences.



3. Turmus Aya, northeast of Ramallah, settlers raided the town, uprooting olive trees, and vandalizing, for the second time, the tombstone of the martyr Ziad Abu Ein who was killed in 2014 by inhaling tear gas.
