General

1. The Washington Post published an analysis of the events of March 16, in Jenin, during which special forces raided the downtown. Based on the findings, the forces executed a Palestinian suspect, and killed another, 16-year-old Omar Muhammad Awadin, who was riding his bicycle.

 

Fatalities

Since the beginning of May, 22 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem (119 deaths since the beginning of the year, 21 of them were minors), and 33 in the Gaza Strip.


1. Ashraf Sheikh Ibrahim, 37 years old, resident of Jenin. In his past, he was a Fatah activist and served a multiple terms in an Israeli prison, totaling 11 years. The last term of 5.5 years was due to shooting at soldiers. Released in 2019. Integrated into the Palestinian security forces as an intelligence officer. He was promoted to a Colonel after his death. He was not considered wanted by the IOF.

That night, after a 24-hour shift, while on his way back home, he heard the call of the mosques to come out and resist the forces that raided the city. He joined the resistance and was shot in his stomach and his chest by a sniper, and died of his wounds a few hours later.

He got engaged 3 weeks earlier and his wedding date was due 4 months after he would have completed the construction of his house.


2. Meir Tamari, 30 years old, married and a father of two. Resident of Hermesh settlement. Shot from a passing vehicle in his chest and limbs. Fatally wounded, he continued driving to the entrance of the settlement, where a medical aid was called. Died of his wounds a short time later.

 

Arrests and detainees

1. Data

‣ 170 Palestinian minors are being held in Israeli prisons. Between 2015 and 2022, 7,500 minors were arrested, most of them for the purpose of exerting psychological pressure to provide information or become collaborators.The data was presented to the Regional conference on preventing grave child violations in armed conflicts, in Doha, Qatar.

‣ 170 arrested since the beginning of the year in Jericho only. 100 of them are residents of the Aqabat Jaber Refugee Camp. 22 of them are minors.

‣ Currently, over 1,200 administrative detainees are being held in Israeli prisons, without charges or indictment. 14 of them minors.


2. Arrests

During the period under review, 47 Palestinians were arrested:

Faqqua 1; Balata Refugee Camp 1; Bab al Amoud 3 (one with special needs); Raba 4; Si'ir 2; Qalandiya Checkpoint 1; Al Aroub Refugee Camp 1 (minor); Tulkarm Refugee Camp1; Shu'afat Refugee Camp 2; Hebron 1 (minor); Deir Abu Masha'al 1; Beitunia 2; Nablus 2; Qabalan 1; Tamun 2; Anab Checkpoint 1; Jenin 6; Dura 1; Qalqilya 1; Beit Hanina 1; Silwad 2 (minors); East Jerusalem 4; Nur Shams Refugee Camp 6.



3. Administrative Detentions

Three administrative detainees, all minors, all residents of the Aqabat Jabr Refugee Camp:


Mawed Omar al-Hajj, 17 years old. He was arrested on May 14, after being summoned for questioning. Injured from clashes and in need of medical follow-up. He was transferred to administrative detention of 4 months, and is being held in the youth wing of Ofer prison.


Jamal Khalil Barahmeh, 17 years old. Injured his leg some time before his arrest on April 27. In need of a surgery, which is currently delayed due to his arrest. Arrested by special forces and transferred to administrative detention of 6 months. Held in the youth wing of Ofer prison.


Ali Bassam Ibrahim, 17 and a half years old. He was in the hospital several hours before his arrest due to a health problem, and was arrested in his home on May 14, after the door was blown off. He was beaten during the arrest. Transferred to administrative detention of 6 months and is being held in the youth wing of Ofer prison.


 

Attacks by the IOF on Palestinians

Chronological report sorted by day of occurrence.


1. Beitunia, west of Ramallah, Friday afternoon. Clashes near Ofer prison. The forces shot teargas at the Palestinians, and targeted journalists. The journalist Ahmad al-Khatib's car was hit by teargas grenades that shattered the windows. Suffocation injuries.


2. Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya, Friday. The weekly protest parade about the blocking of the main road and the land grabbing. The forces fired rubber bullets and teargas. 2 injured by rubber bullets. On Saturday, the clashes resumed. No injuries were reported.




3. Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah. Following the settlers' attack on the village (reported first on the previous brief, details below), and the confrontations between the locals and them, clashes also broke with the IOF, that came to the defense of the settlers. 5 Palestinians wounded. One is seriously injured in the head (conflicting versions of the source of the shooting: army or settlers).

Sunday: 2 Palestinians, apparently involved in an attempt to place an improvised explosive device by the side of the road, were injured by live ammunition.

Tuesday: After 18 days of closure of the village, protest and confrontations at the western entrance. The forces fired teargas and stun grenades at high school students on their way out of school. Suffocation injuries.


4. Faqqua, east of Jenin, Saturday. A raid on the village. Confrontations and suffocation injuries.


5. Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, Saturday. Confrontations. The forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated metal bullets and teargas. A 19-year-old was injured by a rubber bullet while working in a store. The store was damaged severely. Suffocation injuries.


6. Nabi Saleh, northwest of Ramallah, on Saturday, in the Al Jabel area. Clashes during which a soldier was injured by stones. The forces fire live ammunition and teargas, and close the entrance gate.


7. Al Aroub Refugee Camp, north of Hebron, Sunday. The camp was raided after Palestinians threw fire bombs at a military position. Confrontations at the entrance, including live fire and teargas. Suffocation injuries. The forces closed shops at the entrance to the camp. On Monday, another round of clashes. Tuesday morning, raid and clashes.


8. Tulkarm Refugee Camp (not to be mistaken for Nur a Shams refugee camp). Special forces raid shortly after midnight, early Sunday morning. The special forces were exposed and clashes began. Reinforcement pourred in, raiding houses and causing damage to property. Exchange of fire, improvised explosive devices. Two injured, one head injury. One arrest.


9. Ad-Dhahiriya, south of Hebron, early Sunday morning. Raid and clashes. No injuries were reported.


10. Aboud, northwest of Ramallah, Sunday. Confrontations. No injuries were reported.


11. Tura, west of Jenin, Sunday. A raid on the village. Teargas.


12. Raba, south of Jenin. Saturday, raid and arrests. Sunday, raid and clashes. Multiple suffocation injuries.


13. Shu'afat Refugee Camp, northeast Jerusalem. Raid and searches. Suspect's parents arrested to press him to turn himself in.


14. Jenin. An early Monday morning raid on several locations, in the eastern neighborhoods and downtown. Snipers were positioned on the roofs of the houses near the medical center. A raid on several houses, searches, damage to property. Arrests of suspects' family members to press them to turn themselves in. All were released after a few hours.

The Mosques called for resisting the forces. Clashes and heavy exchanges of fire began. The forces blocked medical aid, and even hit an ambulance during evacuation. One dead and seven gunshot injuries.


15. Askar Refugee Camp, east of Nablus. Monday morning raid for arrests. No arrests were made. Exchange of fire. 15 suffocation injuries.

Another raid on Tuesday morning, to measure the house of Hassan Katnani (a martyr who took part in shooting and killing three members of the Dee family near Hamra), in preparation for its demolition. Confrontations. Exchange of fire. 44 suffocation injuries. One injured by rubber bullet and another by stumbling.


16. Beitunia, west of Ramallah, Monday. A raid on the elementary school when classes ended. The forces prevented the students from leaving the classrooms, threatening to shoot anyone who would try to leave, and left after a while.


17. Beit Furik, east of Nablus, Monday. Clashes in the Alqunaitra area.


18. Balata Refugee Camp, east of Nablus, Monday. A special forces unit, camouflaged as women, exposed and retreated.


19. Nur Shams Refugee Camp, a seven hours raid on Tuesday early morning. A special forces raid, backed by other forces and bulldozers.

Massive assault with live fire and stun grenades, searching a number of houses for suspects, and arresting relatives in their absence. The relatives were released later on. The forces Blew up up doors, destroyed houses, damaged commercial stalls and vehicles with the bulldozers, and blocked ambulance access.

They threatened that if the suspects did not turn themselves in, their houses would be blown away. Injuries. Their number was not reported. A soldier from the Duvdevan unit was injured. No arrests were made.


20. Nablus, Tuesday, near the northern mountain. A raid to measure Husam Saim's house. He was shot and killed on February 22, in a raid during which ten Palestinians were killed and over 100 were injured.


21. Si'ir, northeast of Hebron, Tuesday. Following the shooting on a military force in Kiryat Arba a day earlier, a raid and a search. Clashes. One injured by rubber bullet. Arrests were made in the home of Jardat family.


22. Hawara, south of Nablus, Tuesday. A raid on Omar Bin el Halled School, firing of teargas and stun grenades at students and staff, on the pretext of throwing stones. Multiple suffocation injuries. No arrests.

 

Demolitions, Confiscations and Blockades

1. Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah. Blocking the entrances for 18 days in a row.


2. Balata Refugee Camp, east of Nablus. The family of Amar Ta'ain, a wanted man, is required to leave their home, without a court order, in preparation for its demolition.


3. Silwan. Zaid Al-Salaima was forced to demolish his own house, or be required to pay a fine, if the municipality does that. The Shaludi family had to destroy part of their home. The Issawi family is leaving their home in preparation for demolition.


4. Masafar Yatta, south of Hebron. Work stoppage order on a dirt road connecting Al Karmil and At-Tuwani. The workers were detained and the vehicles confiscated.


5. Irtas, south of Bethlehem. Demolition of Mahmoud Ayyash's home.


6. Jericho. Demolition of a house on the eastern side of the city.


7. Beitunia, west of Ramallah. Quarry closure order.


8. Dayr Balut, west of Salfit. 8 Construction stoppage orders for residential houses.

 

Palestinian attacks on the Occupation Forces (IOF)

1. Al Aroub Refugee Camp, north of Hebron. Fire bombs on a military post.

2. Kiryat Arba. Shooting at a military force. A military ambulance was damaged. No casualties.

3. Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah. Setting a military post on fire, at the entrance.

4. Bal'a, east of Tulkarm. Shooting at a military force.

 

Settlers attacks on Palestinians


1. Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, Friday. Settlers, armed with clubs, stones and guns, burned 5 vehicles and 270 bales of hay, and attacked houses. 5 injured. One seriously wounded from a shot to the head.


2. Qusra, southeast of Nablus. Settlers opened fire on a Palestinian vehicle. No casualties.


3. Ein Samia, east of Ramallah. Settlers looted the abandoned encampment and vandalized the school building. They beat and stole the camera from a Palestinian who was trying to document the event.


4. Umm al-Kiba, Jordan Valley. Placing a trailer and setting up a cattle pen, apparently in preparation for a new outpost.


5. Dayr Dibwan, east of Ramallah. Settlers attacked, threw stones and set crops on fire. Two injured.


6. Deir Istiya, west of Salfit. Settlers set up tents. Apparently in preparation for a new outpost.


7. Burqa, northwest of Nablus. Settlers, backed by a military force, and with the permission of the Commander of the Central Command, General Yehuda Fox, and Yoav Gallant, the Minister of Defense, are re-establishing a yeshiva in Homesh, on the looted Burka lands. A military post was established there. Settlers set palm trees on fire in Burka's old cemetery.

 

Palestinian attacks on settlers

1. Hermesh, north of Tulkarm. Shooting on a settler from a passing vehicle. The settler was mortally wounded, and died of his wounds shortly after. Searches in nearby Qaffin and Baqa ash-Sharqiyya.

2. Azzun, east of Qalqilya. Throwing stones at a bus.

3. Psagot, east of Ramallah. Shooting and throwing a fire bomb.

4. Mevo Dotan, south of Jenin. Shooting from long range.

5. Gan Ner, northeast of Jenin. Shooting and damaging a house.

6. Shaked, west of Jenin. Shooting.

7. Bat Ayin, north of Hebron. Setting fields on fire.

8. Giv'at Asaf, east of Ramallah. Stone throwing.

Dear Adi, thank you so much for yourwork, I hsared on my FB page. I appreciate your courage and energy to keep hoop and going on. I received this page from a friend/colleague of the peace work, who are in the "Witness the occupation with eye". It is so incrediblly terrible what is happening and last years more and more. The silence of the international politics, communities and general public is the most problem to solve this 75 ongoing humanitarian catastrophe. We will share the facts and truth, to make people more awake!!! Thank you again, greeting form the Netherlands.
