Wednesday, February 14 - The West Bank

1. Beit Ummar, north of Hebron - raid and serious confrontations. A 16-year-old killed (shot in the head), 18 persons wounded, 11 of them by live fire (9 of them minors!), 7 wounded by rubber-coated bullets, dozens of suffocations. By reports, most of the persons wounded were friends of the wounded minors trying to rescue him and wounded by sniper fire.
2. Ein Sukkut, northern Palestinian Jordan Valley - soldiers chase shepherds from their grazing grounds, threatening them with gunfire.
3. Zeita, north of Tulkarm - raid from the west. Situation in village center and searches. Confrontations ensued. Live fire and teargas. No casualties reported.
4. Deir Ballut, west of Salfit - soldiers rowing boats in rain water in order… to remove a Palestine flag and hang up an Israeli flag instead. Then confiscated construction equipment, arrested 4 persons.
5. Arraba, south of Jenin - arrest of a 13-year-old after his home was searched.

1. Silwan, Al Bustan neighborhood - Fakhri Abu Diab’s home demolished (a researcher at the information center of East Jerusalem, and activist involved in planning construction regulation), a house inhabited by 10 persons who were expelled into the street that morning.

Hamza Suleiman A-Rashed, from Jenin - arrested with his 2 brothers by use of dogs that bit him in his left arm. He was not treated and soldiers continued to beat him up inside the vehicle that delivered him to the Huwarra detention facility.

On December 3rd, Mohammad Jaradat was at the Etzyon detention facility and was beaten up to the point of losing consciousness. He bled profusely but was not treated. Eventually he was hospitalized. Placed in administrative detention for six months.

On October 10th, Asid Hamad from Silwad was beaten up badly, some of his wounds have not healed to this day. He suffered infections because of neglect. Placed in administrative detention for six months.

1. Khan Yunis - the Al Nasser compound has been under siege for 25 days. Sniper fire at whoever moves around the compound and inside the wards. Night bombing of the orthopedic ward. Immediately followed by raid of the compound and live fire at the wards. Expulsion of DPs. Arrests of medical staff members, evacuation of patients to older compound. Destruction of the southern wall, raid on the Red Crescent headquarters.

4. East Jerusalem - this week, too, harsh restriction of persons allowed to pray on Friday at Al Aqsa Mosque. Many prayed in the street. In Ras Al Amoud neighborhood, policemen violently pushed people praying.

1. Asira al-Qibliya, south of Nablus - according to Palestinians, security official of Yitzhar colony accompanied by colonists blocked the entrance to the village, forced 3 Palestinians out of their car when trying to cross the checkpoint, and threatened to ignite the vehicle.
2. Khallet Hajar Fauqa, Masafer Yatta - 2 Palestinian children attacked while grazing their flock. Colonists threw stones at them, armed colonists and soldiers stood on the opposite hill and watched them without intervening. One of the children was wounded by the stones and hospitalized. The other was wounded while escaping.

Clashes
1. Jalbun, north-east of Jenin - takeover of a house (home of Emad Abu Al Rub) and turning it into an army post.
2. Tulkarm refugee camp - in the morning, while children go to school, an undercover force breaks in and surrounds a house. Army support with bulldozer block entrances. Snipers on rooftops, confrontations ensue during two persons are killed - an unarmed 19-year-old standing on his roof who was shot in the head by a sniper, and an armed man who took part in the confrontations.
3 others were wounded, as well as an Israeli soldier who was seriously wounded. Army prevented ambulance access. Bulldozer destroyed infrastructure and 4 houses.
3. Beit Furik Checkpoint, east of Nablus - Palestinian young man shot to death while approaching checkpoint. Soldiers claimed he did not stop when demanded to do so. His body was detained for several hours. No weapons were found on it.
4. Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus - raid, house searches. Confrontations including fire exchanges. No casualties reported.
5. Husan, west of Bethlehem - raid of eastern entrance, during teargas and stun grenade use.
6. Al Jaba', south-west of Bethlehem - two days ago colonist from Bat Ayin colony attacked shepherds. Today the army arrested two of the shepherds during grazing.

1. Shab el Butm, Masafer Yatta - colonists attacked family with stones and tried to run down the sheep flock and shepherds close to home. Then came army-garb=wearing colonists to the home, attacked and kidnapped a father and son (remember the ruse of colonists kidnapping a Palestinian?) and took them to the colony. Other armed colonists invaded homes, vandalized equipment and kidnapped another Palestinian. For 24 hours no one knew their whereabouts. They were freed only 24 hours later.
